Does this sound like you?:
I am feeling lonely in my relationship.
I know that this relationship is going nowhere, but I can’t seem to break it off.
I don't think my partner is "the One," but should I leave someone who loves me so much? Will I ever find that devotion again?
My partner broke up with me, and I can’t seem to move past the pain.
I’m not proud of this, but I am having an affair and don’t know what to do. I’m torn.
how i can help
This is a space for you to be entirely and unapologetically you.
Do you find yourself in the same type of relationship over and over? Are you constantly trying to fix your partner? The only thing you can change is you. Individual therapy can help you understand why you keep finding yourself in the same relationship patterns or why you know you need to leave but can't.
We all bring our own baggage into relationships, whether from past experiences or our upbringing. Sometimes, we don't realize how our words, tone, and actions affect our partners. Individual therapy can help you identify and understand these patterns, uncovering personal triggers and sensitivities.

What people often ask me about individual therapy.
-
Before our first meeting, we'll have had a brief introductory phone chat. During that conversation, I'll listen to your concerns to ensure I can provide the therapeutic help you need. If we proceed to a session, I am confident I can help you reach your goals.
Our first session is for you to determine if we are a good personality fit. I don’t expect you to trust me right away—trust is earned. However, do a gut check to see if you believe I can earn that trust over time.
-
It depends, as everyone is unique. I can provide more specific guidance after our first session.
Typically, I suggest weekly sessions for 4-6 weeks. This allows us to get to know each other, build trust, and address the pain that brought you to therapy. After 4-6 sessions, we can discuss how therapy is going and decide if we should continue weekly, switch to bi-weekly, or find another schedule that fits your needs and budget. The duration of our work together is entirely up to you.
Many clients see me for several months, take a break, and return for tune-up sessions as needed. I'm very flexible and keep the door open for past clients. Life's transitions, such as a birth, death, new job, ending of a relationship, or family crisis, can be challenging. It's helpful to have a therapist for support and guidance during these times.

I understand how frustrating it can be when websites don’t clearly state their fees upfront—it feels a bit shady, right?
My rate is $200 for a 50-minute session.
If you have a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), you have the option of getting reimbursed for our sessions. I can provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Alternatively, I work with a company called Thrizer that can explain your benefits and handle the paperwork for you.
If you have an HMO you need to see someone within their network. Contact your insurance provider to see who is on your plan.
I'm a great therapist, but paperwork isn't my strong suit. Handling insurance involves a lot of paperwork! We all need to know our limitations!

Every therapist has their own approach, but my personal policy is no. Here's why:
Honesty: To truly help you, I need you to feel comfortable being completely honest with me. If you think your partner might join us later, you may naturally hold back.
Fairness: Even if your partner initially seems okay with the idea, they might later wonder what was said about them before they joined. This can create feelings of imbalance and defensiveness when I address their role in the relationship dynamics.
Perception: If we have developed a close individual therapy relationship, you might feel attacked or picked on if I take your partner’s side during couples sessions. This could leave you feeling betrayed and undermine the therapy process.
Don't worry, I have several trusted colleagues that I can refer you to for either individual counseling or couples counseling.
In short, I believe starting therapy individually and then transitioning to couples counseling doesn’t provide the safest and most effective environment for addressing your relationship issues.
